Henk de Vreeze new CEO Biretco BV

As from 1 December 2007, Biretco B.V. has a new Chief Executive Officer in the person of Henk de Vreeze.
Henk de Vreeze has a background in audio-visual and kitchen appliances, in which line he was at the helm for three and a half years as CEO of the retail organization Nederlandse Expert Groep B.V. 190 stores are affiliated with this organization, with an annual consumer turnover of € 400 million. Before being appointed at Expert, De Vreeze was active for a decade as commercial director in the Formido D.I.Y. chain, after 20 years in various commercial positions at the Hema chain of stores. De Vreeze is 57.
De Vreeze’s ambitions fit in very well with the ambitions of the market leader in bicycles. The new CEO aims for an even stronger positioning and profiling of the formulas and other cooperative arrangements of Biretco on the Dutch, Belgian and German markets. To this end, he will draw up a strategic plan based first and foremost on optimizing store profits.
Biretco is one of the biggest retail organizations in the bicycle branch in Europe, with well-known chains such as Profile ‘de Fietsspecialist’ and Fietswereld. There are 4 cooperative arrangements active within Biretco, with a total of 750 stores in Europe, together generating an annual consumer turnover of 325 million.
On 1 December 2007, De Vreeze will take up his position as CEO of Biretco. The Board consists of two statutory directors, Henk de Vreeze, CEO, and Erik de Geus, CFO.
