Yesterday afternoon, at Villa Arena Amsterdam, the winners were announced of the public award ‘Best retail chain in the Netherlands’. For the third year in a row, Profile ‘de Fietsspecialist’ was the winner in the ‘Bicycle and Leisure’ category. Other nominees in this category were ANWB and Halfords.
In the total ranking of 100 best retail chains in the Netherlands,
Profile ‘de Fietsspecialist’ came 9th, up one position from last year.
Profile ‘de Fietsspecialist’ also did particularly well regarding the
criteria ‘service’ and ‘expert staff’. Of all 100 retail chains, the
bicycle specialty store conquered 4th place in the category ‘service’
and 5th place in the category ‘expert staff’.
In the total ranking, Profile ‘de Fietsspecialist’ left the competition
far behind. This year, Halfords did not make the top 100, and the other
bicycle specialty chains did not make the top 100 either. ANWB ended up
in 32nd place.
The best retail chain award is contended by big-name chains such as
Hema, IKEA and Bruna. This year, IKEA again was the overall winner of
the title ‘Best retail chain’ of the Netherlands. The research was done
by Elsevier Retail and the research bureau Q&A Research. This year
for the first time, organization of the public award took place under
the auspices of the Stichting Retail Jaarprijs foundation. In total,
385,000 votes were cast and 900,000 assessments made according to
various criteria.
